Joe Biden is the last person on the planet who should lecture us about the “soul of our nation.” What does he know about having a “soul?” Does a person with a soul shower with his daughter, sniff the heads of young girls, touch them inappropriately, and pay for his crackhead son’s underage hookers? The actual soul of our nation is our Constitution, which Biden has spent forty years dumping all over.
Nevertheless, last night, he delivered a primetime speech titled “Soul of the Nation” in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Prior to his speech, his White House staff assured the American people that it would not be political, and that Biden would not specifically name any one person or party. Since the speech was entirely political and focused on one person and party, I can’t imagine why his staff would be so unaware of what their president was about to say to the American people. Are they seriously that ill-informed? Were they taken by surprise?
Before I get to the actual speech, I want to mention the optics. Something about the setting where Biden delivered this speech, with that ominous red backdrop and military presence standing at attention behind him, reminded me of something:
Plenty of others have commented about the inappropriateness of using U.S. Marines as background props for a political speech. The U.S. military, after all, is supposed to be apolitical. To their credit, even some of the pundits from CNN acknowledged that this was inappropriate. A producer for ABC network also tweeted:
The Marines behind Biden was weird. If Trump did that, every Dem operative I follow would be freaking the F out.
When you’ve lost ABC and CNN, you know you’ve overstepped a boundary. The “if Trump did that” argument applies to just about everything Biden has done as president. Just imagine if Trump smeared half the country as “semi-Fascists” after raiding the home of Obama to retrieve some papers, and then gave a speech flanked by U.S. Marines. Leftist heads would explode all around us.
After coughing into his hand several times, Biden began his speech:
But as I stand here tonight, equality and democracy are under assault. We do ourselves no favor to pretend otherwise. So, tonight, I have come to this place where it all began to speak as plainly as I can to the nation about the threats we face, about the power we have in our own hands to meet these threats, and about the incredible future that lies in front of us if only we choose it.
As I have written here before, many times, there are several actual threats to democracy taking place in 2022 America, but all of them are coming from this Biden administration and the Democratic Party. The sweeping changes made to election laws by Democrats are, by definition, a threat to democracy. The authoritarian lockdowns, mandates, and other measures taken in response to the pandemic were clear, dictionary-definition, examples of threats to democracy. Obviously, however, these examples are not what Biden and his party refers to as “threats to democracy.”
Eventually, Joe got around to specifically naming the biggest “threat to democracy.” You’ll never guess who it is.
Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic. Now, I want to be very clear – very clear up front: not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans, are MAGA Republicans. Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology.
Joe never gets around to explaining what a “MAGA Republican” is, or what is so “extreme” about these people. When he tossed around the “semi-Fascist” slander earlier this week, the assumption was that he directed it toward the 74 million people who voted for Trump. Last night, Biden tried to soften that slander by claiming there are some “good” Republicans.
Who are these “good” Republicans? Well, people like Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney, who will allow the Democrats to do whatever they like without any resistance whatsoever. Biden and the Democrats don’t like “MAGA Republicans” because they won’t let Democrats get away with murder. What they really want, more than anything, is a return to the political “norms” of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, where there was very little difference between the Democrat and Republican parties, which worked together, hand-in-hand, to enrich themselves and their cronies, and to enable government to grow in size and power.
But there is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.
Keep in mind that Trump left office nearly twenty months ago. He has held no power over anyone or anything since then. How is his existence as a private citizen a “threat to this country?” Again, Joe never specifies how this is possible. We’re simply supposed to take his word for it that this is true.
But I’m an American president – not the president of red America or blue America, but all of America.
In what possible way has Joe Biden represented red America since becoming *president? Every bill he has signed, every executive order, every decision he’s made, has been in exact polar opposition to the wishes of 74 million Republican voters. When he isn’t flipping the bird to Republicans through his policies, he has spent a great deal of his time insulting and demonizing us, calling us “semi-Fascists” and “Jim Crow 2.0,” and blaming us for the pandemic. He’s been the most divisive president in American history, and yet he wants us to believe he has ruled on behalf of “all America?”
And here, in my view, is what is true: MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people.
Biden’s own party has spent the past two years calling for defunding the police, expanding (or disbanding entirely) the Supreme Court, ending the filibuster, destroying the electoral college, federalizing state elections, and weaponizing federal law enforcement agencies. In what parallel reality does all of the above have anything to do with “respecting the Constitution” and the “rule of law?” Aren’t these all exact-opposite examples of such?
They refuse to accept the results of a free election. And they’re working right now, as I speak, in state after state, to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering deniers to undermine democracy itself.
There is a great video montage making the rounds lately, showing ten full minutes of Democrats denying the 2016 election results:
Did they all forget about this? Did they think we would forget? Refusing to accept election results has long been a tradition in every free country in the world. The danger comes when there is a valid reason to question the legitimacy of an election – which is exactly what Democrats have created with their widespread fraudulent behavior in 2020.
If Democrats were truly interested in restoring the integrity of our elections, they could easily do so. They could take several different measures to ensure that only legal votes are cast and counted. They could add additional measures to ensure that the counting of votes is as open and transparent as possible. They could prohibit private funding of election infrastructure. They could ban unmanned dropboxes. They could tighten restrictions on mail-in voting. There are many things they could do if they were truly interested in holding a fair and legitimate election. Instead, they have done nothing but fight against all of the above. To the average American voter, this speaks volumes about their true intentions.
MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards – backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.
Of course, all of the above is nonsense, and most people are savvy enough to understand that. People who actually pay attention to current events know that “MAGA Republicans” didn’t take away anyone’s “right to choose.” The U.S. Supreme Court rightfully and Constitutionally punted the abortion issue back to the states, where it had been for nearly 200 years, and where it belongs. No one from the Republican Party is calling for an end to privacy, contraception, or marriage. These are nothing but scare tactics, and most people recognize that. There are some, however, who are stupid and gullible enough to believe it. Those people are Biden’s target audience: the stupid and gullible.
They look at the mob that stormed the United States Capitol on January 6th – brutally attacking law enforcement – not as insurrectionists who placed a dagger to the throat of our democracy, but they look at them as patriots.
I don’t know of a single Republican — “MAGA” or otherwise — who hasn’t condemned the violent attacks on policemen on January 6th. I don’t know of a single person who has referred to those violent protesters as “patriots.” Biden has simply created a strawman to fit his narrative.
Can you imagine a world where no riot took place on January 6th? What on earth would the left obsess over if that hadn’t happened? On one day, for five hours, a group of roughly 125 Trump supporters, out of tens of thousands, committed acts of violence against law enforcement. Every single day since then, the left has pointed to that very small group of people as evidence that Trump supporters and “MAGA Republicans” are violent.
Throughout the entire Tea Party movement, in which Republicans gathered by the thousands throughout the country, the only incidents of violence reported at any one of those rallies were the result of leftist counter-protesters attacking Tea Partiers. When thousands of Republicans gathered during the spring and summer of 2020 to protest lockdowns, there was not one incident of violence reported.
People on the right rarely protest. When we do, we are never violent – with the exceptions of that small handful of people on January 6th. Yet, Biden and the Democrats desperately want us all to believe that right-wing violence is an urgent threat to our “democracy.” It’s nonsense. It’s always been nonsense.
This is a nation that respects free and fair elections. We honor the will of the people. We do not deny it. And this is a nation that rejects violence as a political tool. We do not encourage violence.
I have already included a compilation video above that shows Democrats clearly not respecting a free and fair election. There is another compilation video making the rounds recently, showing various Democrats openly encouraging political violence:
This is not merely hypocrisy on display. This is gaslighting. Joe Biden would like us to believe that the things we see with our very own eyes are not real. He wants us to believe that our own experiences exist only in our imaginations. Democrats, whose non-stop rioting in 2020 caused $2 billion in damages and 25 deaths, are the nonviolent protesters in this alternate reality. Democrats, who have opposed every measure that would return some semblance of integrity to our elections, are the ones who respect a “free and fair” election. Democrats, who openly cheered for violence against Supreme Court Justices, do not encourage violence. All of the above is in our imaginations.
On top of that, there are public figures – today, yesterday, and the day before – predicting and all but calling for mass violence and rioting in the streets. This is inflammatory. It’s dangerous. It’s against the rule of law.
Biden, presumably, is referring to an interview on Fox News last weekend where Sen. Lindsay Graham said that if the DOJ goes ahead with prosecuting Donald Trump over a few mishandled papers, after refusing to prosecute Hillary Clinton for a similar “crime,” then “there will be riots in the streets.”
First, it’s worth pointing out that Sen. Graham didn’t encourage riots. He merely predicted it would happen. Second, he’s simply wrong. As I pointed out above, with one single five-hour exception in the entire history of the party, Republicans do not riot. We simply don’t.
They don’t understand what every patriotic American knows: you can’t love your country only when you win.
This is rich coming from the guy who routinely shouts at the clouds every time he loses. When his $10 trillion “Build Back Better” bill was blocked in the Senate, Biden went ballistic on Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. When the Supreme Court repealed Roe, Biden screeched about the “extremism” of the Supreme Court, threatened once again to pack the court, and said nothing when Justices were physically threatened. Months before the November election even takes place, Biden has gone on the record to state that if his party loses, the election would be illegitimate.
Biden ended his speech in typically-bizarre Joe Biden fashion:
The ”democracy” party has spent six years trying, endlessly, to charge Donald Trump with a crime despite the lack of evidence of any crime. They raided his home for papers despite the fact that he was cooperating fully. They slandered him with accusations of treason for years. They spied on his campaign on behalf of his opponent. They allowed the 2020 election to be tainted with illegal ballots, ballot-harvesting, ballot-curing, private funding, and other chicanery.
And they want to lecture us about “democracy?”
“President” Biden is dousing the country with gasoline at a time when the nation is already a flaming dumpster fire. He could have used this primetime spot to douse those flames, calm everyone down, and assure the 74 million Trump voters that he is not our enemy. Instead, he did the exact opposite. It’s hardly the first time he’s done so. He has spent the better part of his presidency insulting and threatening half the country.
Trump, for all his faults, never spoke this way about Democrat voters. He had plenty of nasty things to say about individuals like Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Carly Fiorina, and Rosie O’Donnell. But he never demonized half the country the way that Biden has made a habit of doing. If Trump is such a “danger” to peace and democracy, what does that make Biden?
The party that is laughably referring to our nation’s “soul” has spent the past several years committing mass child abuse, shutting them out of school, indoctrinating them into their gender cult, exposing them to grown men in G-strings, and encouraging them to mutilate themselves with surgeries and life-altering hormones. This same party has spent the past 50 years pushing for more and more infanticide, and is now shrieking that there isn’t enough of it. This same party spent all of 2020 wishing death on people who refused to be as paralyzed by fear as they were. This same party ignores human trafficking and drug smuggling at the border, which results in tens of thousands of deaths every year. This same party does nothing about inner city violence and murder that has made nearly every major U.S. city uninhabitable.
These evil ghouls want to lecture us about “soul?” Seriously?
Ben Shapiro called this “the most demagogic, outrageous, and divisive speech I have ever seen from an American president.” I have to agree.
It will be interesting to see if normal non-political people continue to cuck, so they aren't harassed. Will the pushback point be too late? Maybe his fuhrer speech helps? Hurts?
I'd like to make a list of every legal and ethical thing people can do to stop this, resist this evil horseshit.
